    2) It should work for all values as long as they have the same term

    2) No . As long as we are able to separate or factor out the common terms for the fraction

    1) Common factors that can be divided simplified and divided in the numerator and denominator.
    2) It should work for all values as long as there is a common factor that is being able to be divided.

    1)Common terms divisible by the denominator.
    2) It would not work if the value is indivisible by the denominator
